Personal Statement

Sitting by the crackling fire, I pulled my woolen shawl tighter around my shoulders, trying to fend off the German Autumn. Across from us, Herr Heidenreich, our stable master, was talking animatedly, switching between English, German and croaky chuckles.

Someone suggested a game of “two truths, one lie”. The stake? The losers would muck out the stables at dawn.
